Abstract

Harvard is using native Oracle capability to extract and move selected ALEPH data to a dedicated reporting server. Using Oracle’s Distributed Data Replication, a set of “snapshots” is created to pull data from the production ALEPH server to a separate reporting server. These snapshots, together with a desktop query tool, make custom reporting available to technical and nontechnical library staff across the university.
