Abstract

Millenials are requesting more and more technology services and support from their academic libraries every year. They want the toys and the tools that will help prepare them to succeed in today’s world. Generation Y wants one-stop shopping or least everything in close proximity. While many libraries, like ours, have combined Reference and Access Services to help address some of these needs, our library went a step further. We added technology support at a separate desk to our growing list of responsibilities. What happens when the responsibility for these very diverse services shifts to the Access Services department? These presenters will discuss the benefits and challenges of managing these services at their respective institutions. This will be an interactive discussion with the audience.
