Brief notes from the Cataloging Round table,

chaired by Helen Schmierer.

The cataloging round table basically covered 2 topics.  The first was enhancements.  There was a discussion of how the enhancement process works, the enhancements we have been working on and why we felt they were important and a reminder to all present that we should be looking and keeping track of needed enhancements during the entire year.

The second topic of discussion was about what types of sessions catalogers would like to see on next years NAAUG agenda.  Topics included:

There was a suggestion that there should be better descriptions of the presentations in the program as several people felt they had gone to presentations that were not what they expected, or were not at the level they expected.

In addition there were several smaller discussions covering problems we encounter in Aleph, with other members of the group giving suggestions on how to fix them.
