Abstract

In this presentation I will share practical tips I’ve learned over the past year of working with Alma Analytics. We will look at a number of helpful functions such as SUBSTRING, COUNT, TRIM, REPLACE, LOCATE, LENGTH, IFNULL, CAST, CASE, and FILTER, and learn how these can be used to create simple yet powerful formulas for extracting data. We’ll review several formatting tips for tweaking the data output and also learn how to create a UNION query that combines two or more subject areas in one report. Finally, I’ll demo some reports that have proven handy at our site. I’ll strive to present material on a level that is useful to both beginners and advanced users.
