Abstract

Several academic institutions are in the process of transitioning from Oracle to Workday, a new (cloud-based) financial management and human capital management software (ERP) campus-wide. This talk will be hosted by presenters from two different academic institutions outlining the work that went place towards the transition from Oracle to Workday.

Presenter: Cindy Greenspun, Yale University

Yale is implementing a new ERP system, campus-wide in the Spring of 2017. As a result, the University will be moving from Oracle eBusiness for HR, payroll and financial operations to a new system called Workday. To accommodate this change, the library needed to analyze various workflows and scripts to accommodate for the system transition, thus changing their patron loader and to update/streamline financial scripts such as the vendor update and invoice processing scripts.

Presenter: Allen Jones, New School:

New School migrated from Banner to Workday last year. The project plan left Banner running in parallel to Workday for 9 months while development ensued for library scripting. Changes in patron logic had to be re-written, especially patrons with dual roles. This current year is working to integrate financials from Aleph to WorkDay cost categories. We will present a synopsis of where we are and possible integration points.
