Long term management and access is important for everyone working with digital materials to understand, not only the importance of digital preservation, but how to implement a program within your organization. The presentation will look at six fundamental topics of preserving digital objects: 1.) Identify the types of digital content you have and select the digital content you want to be accessible long-term. 2.) Best methods for managing long term file metadata 3.) Storing your digital content securely 4.) Protect your content from everyday threats (changes, obsolescence, loss, etc.) 5.) Create a preservation plan for long term management. 6.)
