Abstract

David Walker, Library Web Services Manager, California State University Office of the Chancellor Metasearch is still controversial in many parts of the library community. In this presentation, David will examine some of the arguments surrounding metasearch, offering a more expansive set of goals and benefits than has been traditionally advocated. He will showcase his work using the MetaLib X-Server to integrate metasearching with other systems and data in order to provide a richer end-user experience.
