Abstract

Heather Hessel, Assistant Director, Library Enterprise Operations, University of Minnesota; Erik Biever, Systems Analyst, University of Minnesota. Beginning in July 2008, the University of Minnesota will be migrating all current financial systems to PeopleSoft, representing the largest software implementation ever undertaken by the University. The University Libraries interacts with the current system to transmit invoice and budget data and to update ALEPH with details returned from the financial system. The migration to PeopleSoft required an updated analysis and programming of this process, and provided new opportunities for streamlining the workflow. This presentation will include examples of benefits to staff, details about interfacing with the PeopleSoft environment, and information about generating XML data from ALEPH.
