Shibboleth - Authentication and Single Sign On at USMAI

Abstract

Shibboleth - Authentication and Single Sign On at USMAI David Kennedy, Programmer and Jean Phillips, Manager, Library Systems Development, University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions (USMAI). At USMAI, we have implemented the Shibboleth architecture to create a secure single sign on to our library services (Metalib, SFX, EZProxy, ILLiad ...). We worked with Ex Libris to integrate PDS with Shibboleth. We have laid the groundwork for single sign on to non-library resources across our consortium. Presentation to include a brief overview of the Shibboleth architecture, our implementation plan and details (decisions, resources, etc), and future plans for Shibboleth.
