But many times they can't find paper and/or pencil around. And the library staff have pain to keep supply them. Now this enhancement called Text Messaging enables the users to send the call number plus item title and location directly to their cell phones from the OPAC record display page. They no longer need to write down anything. This feature is implemented on Voyager 6.x and Solaris, using javascript and perl. It should work on Voyager 7.x too. date: 2009-11-06 date_type: published full_text_status: restricted pres_type: speech event_title: Ex Libris Mid-Atlantic (EMA) 2009 Conference event_location: Binghamton University Downtown Center, Binghamton, NY event_dates: 5-6 November 2009 event_type: conference refereed: FALSE citation: Wang, Yongming (2009) Text Messaging from Voyager OPAC.
