Abstract

Migrating to a new ILS system can be an anxiety inducing experience. This presentation focuses on preparing your staff before, during, and after an Alma migration. Topics include, what decisions your institution may need to look at before you make the move to Alma, how you should approach your initial test load and your on-site visits, and what you should do to manage both your expectations and the expectations of other acquisitions staff members. The goal of this presentation is to help other acquisition departments learn from the experiences of the University of Texas at Dallas and as a result, refine and improve their institutions migration experience.
