Abstract
A couple of years ago we created our own tool to build finding aids. Because there is good metadata in the component level of the finding aid that is not available any other place, we thought it would helpful if we could ingest and index component level records into Primo. The advantages of doing this include being able to get direct access to a component of a finding aid without having to navigate the entire aid, serendipitous discovery of information that has not been available in Primo, and allow a user to place a request for the item associated with that component.
