Abstract
The contract is signed. You’re over the shock. Maybe you have a few months before you start your migration. Now what? Alma pre-implementation can be a stressful time. While information is provided in the way of manuals, and some help with strategies and tasks is available from Ex Libris, maybe you want more. This session offers advice and ideas on how you can most effectively use your pre-implementation time. We will talk about what makes Alma unique as an LMS and the best ways to start learning about it. I will show how you can start organizing your team and be ready to hit the ground running. And we will discuss in detail one of the most important chores on your pre-implementation to-do list: data cleanup. As a Voyager site, we were fortunate to have many tools available to us so that we could get our data into fighting shape for the migration. One take-away from this session will be an archive of SQL and other code you might use to help you get ready for surviving Almanado.
