Abstract
Academic libraries are facing a challenging mix of programmatic change amidst embedded traditions, and the need for new investments amidst financial constraints. Concurrently, accelerating forces of change in technology, research and research publishing are further motivating the need for change in academic libraries. We can best meet these challenges by developing a unification strategy that builds on individual strengths, while at the same time leverages collaboration and cooperation in order to creatively and collaboratively innovate a total approach that is far greater than the sum of the individual parts.
