Abstract

Legacy ILS was designed to handle physical resource, in which electronic resources were managed in the same way as physical resource. Alma treats physical resource and electronic resource in different structure. A physical to electronic resources (P2E) process has been established for migration. The process of electronic resources migration includes the ILS load with P2E conversion and Link Resolver load. The process results in duplicated records particularly for items with purchase order. We will review the electronic resources migration process in Alma and share our strategies of preparing P2E file, cleaning up duplicated electronic resources, grouping standalone P2E migrated portfolios to local electronic collections, structuring electronic resources collection names, standardizing authentication note/public note to improve the user discovery in Primo.
