Abstract
We implemented meeScan at the University of Manitoba Libraries in 2016. It is an app which allows patrons to check out items by themselves. We are using Alma at UML. Thus, for each library in Alma, a self-check "machine" was created. The generated certificates were sent to the vendor so that they can use stunnel to encrypt the communication between meeScan and Alma. We are the first academic library that has implemented this service. We would like to share our experience with other institutions.
