Abstract
This presentation will provide an overview of ILS-related work done by CWU libraries since we migrated to Alma/Primo in Dec 2014. We learned that Alma is easy to configure and make changes. Ex Libris provides excellent product and training documentation. We integrated Alma with PeopleSoft for Patron Load and Bursar Transfer. We migrated our Multimodal Education Center collection from Follett Destiny to Alma on our own. Primo is also easy to configure and customize. We harvested our local digital repository bepress Digital Commons database and LibGuides research guides to Primo. We developed a local stack map app to show items locations. We implemented a “send via text message” feature in Primo to send items information to patrons’ mobile devices. Other experiences and lessons learned include use of Alma APIs in several projects such as MEC collection migration and YBP Shelf Ready, implementation of a self-check station at MEC library and implementing Shibboleth single sign-on authentication for users to access Primo. We also enabled EDI, integrated Shibboleth with EzProxy for ILLiad Interlibrary Loan authentication, and customized Primo New UI.
