Abstract
In 2018, RMIT Library found ourselves in the unique position of implementing Rosetta after having just finished our migration from our legacy system (Equella) to Alma Digital Alma-D). All of our digital content - course papers, past exams, digitised books and photos and artefacts and videos - now sat in Alma Digital in derivative format. This presented us with new questions: What should stay in Alma-D? What should go into Rosetta, and how to we get the derivatives from Alma and the master files from our hard drives into Rosetta?
This presentation will cover how we tackled the move of files and metadata from Alma-D to Rosetta, using a combination of OAI harvesting, XSL transformers, Alma-Rosetta integration and the moral and technical support of the Rosetta community. The presentation will also cover how the technical specifications of both systems guided our decision making in the formation of our digitisation and digital preservation policies.
