Abstract
The gap between distance and in-classroom education is getting smaller and smaller. The rapidly expanding options of computer-based delivery methods are increasing the number of students willing to enroll in an online course each semester. 3D models and cell phone aided virtual and augmented reality are at the top of the hot tech that is driving this now mature movement.
Using the Ex Libris platform Leganto, Emerging Technologies Librarian Bobby Reed, will demonstrate how the University of Oklahoma is embedding 3D content directly into courses on Canvas. From photogrammetric bone scans to CT scans from partner universities, several methods for showing, hosting, and curating this type of data will be on display. This is not just a lecture. Bring your laptop. Have a test course ready and we can practice building these functionalities together.
