Abstract
UNSW Sydney was an early adopter of Leganto in 2016.
We, like others, started with a pilot in February 2016 of 19 courses mainly from the Faculty of Social Sciences and 21 reading lists mainly from the Faculty of Social Sciences. As it was a pilot we micro-managed every step of the process. The pilot continued into the next semester as we wanted to see if other faculty might use Leganto differently.
In 2017 the decision was made to roll out Leganto as our main reading list management tool.
We did see the uptake of Leganto improve over the year as we adjusted how we used Leganto and sold it to the university community as an easy tool to use.
During this time, how the Library processed reading lists also changed as new functionality such as copyright management was introduced. These changes allowed us to reduce the time for processing the citations received during Week One of semester to 3 days of receipt.
2019 marks three years since UNSW implemented Leganto. Can we say it is business as usual?
We will provide insight into how Leganto has been rolled out to the Learning and Teaching community at UNSW Sydney.
We will identify where we have had to adjust our communication strategy to meet the specific needs of each Faculty.
Finally, we will detail UNSW's strategies in managing the processing of reading lists on an ongoing basis.
