Abstract

Leganto helps library staff meet the immediate need of supporting courses with library materials and services by building and delivering reading lists. Beyond these obvious service-level benefits, adding Leganto to your library’s portfolio of services confers additional organizational benefits that facilitate connection to the larger network and strategic direction of the university. This talk will illustrate how Leganto has helped the University of St. Thomas Libraries build connections with a variety of campus stakeholders such as instructional designers, the office of the general counsel, the bookstore, and the CIO, as well as contribute to teaching and learning through technology integration, learning analytics, and course design collaborations. Hear how gaining trust and credibility through a successful Leganto implementation opens new avenues for collaboration and positions the library alongside other important stakeholders on campus. Libraries gaining respect and being invited to the table can sometimes seem more likely in science fiction than in reality, but with the help of Leganto finding a path to the center of the university is more realistic than ever.
