Abstract
The libraries at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have been building a coordinated discovery platform to provide the search experience for the catalog, articles, databases, and our digital collections program. The platform uses Alma and Primo APIs for the catalog and articles interfaces, and for our suggestions service. And we take advantage of LC name authority IDs to resolve through linked data via VIAF to biographical data from Wikipedia and Getty, which we display in the catalog as knowledge cards on full record pages. This talk provides an update on our progress and outlines our thinking on future directions. See https://search.library.wisc.edu for the current state of the platform. See https://www.library.wisc.edu/experiments/coordinated-discovery/ for a description of coordinated discovery. Catalog knowledge cards and a preview of articles will be released at the beginning of the Spring 2019 semester.
