Abstract
Steve Thomas, Local Systems Development Coordinator, University of Tennessee.
This presentation will show how a few simple SQL scripts, when combined with the sort and compare features of Excel, may be used to prepare some powerful reports. For example, in answer to a request for a report of duplicate holdings, the presenter was able to reduce the initial output file of over 69,000 book items into a report of less than 12,000 duplicate items by comparing call number and description data.
