Abstract
Heather Scalf, Assistant Coordinator, Access Services, University of Texas at Arlington.
This is a discussion of the planning and organization that was required in order to move over 150,000 items to our off-site storage facility and organize them for retrieval. It was a collaborative project that required work from three different program areas in the library. Over the course of two years, we have learned a lot of from each other, as each of those areas created some new and useful technology or process in order to be more efficient in the transfer, location and retrieval of the books. The decision to use Voyager Call Slip for retrieval and its subsequent configuration completed the project to make a useful and usable tool so that patrons may request their own materials from storage.
