Abstract
Chicago State University Library uses Voyager ILS through the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries at Illinois (CARLI), including all electronic resources (e-resources) configured through SFX with the Voyager ILS. Instead of using an expensive e-resources management system, we bulk import bibliographic MARC records to the Voyager system; these MARC records are all full-text e-resource titles that are subscribed from various vendors with multiple corresponding access URLs. This places the bibliographic records with multiple 856 fields in the Voyager OPAC for the library users to directly access full text e-resources through the OPAC. This presentation will provide details such as: why import all full text e-resource titles to the Voyager ILS and what benefits are there for users, where and how to obtain the bibliographic MARC records (EBSCO), what bibliographic bulk import rules to setup in Voyager System Administration, what other system settings need to be configured along with the bulk import process, tips on how to prepare MARC records for import, what procedures are used for this process, and what frequency data needs to be updated and the process involved in updating MARC records. The practical process and operational procedures presented will help libraries handle e-resources in a different way and will improve the efficiency of accessing the e-resources by the library users.
